Under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, 7th cohort of ATLG Programme introductory meeting organised by General Women's Union and AD Ports Group's Maqta Gateway

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Mother of the Nation, the General Women's Union and Maqta Gateway, part of AD Ports Group, held an introductory meeting for the seventh cohort of the ATLG programme at the Digital District. The ATLG training programme aims to attract nurture UAE National talent to develop the capabilities of future leaders in the fields of trade and logistics.

The programme seeks to prepare participants for the future job market requirements, focusing on developing expertise in technology and logistics sectors. The programme equips participants with practical skills and experience while also involving them in strategic digital projects that enhance the global competitiveness of the UAE.

Over its six previous batches, the programme has provided more than 100,000 training hours, over 2,500 training courses, and awarded more than 1,100 accredited certificates. It has trained 371 participants after receiving over 8,300 applicants across its six batches. The seventh batch alone received more than 2,600 applications. ATLG has also provided more than 100,000 participants with opportunities to benefit from specialized sessions on enhancing cybersecurity awareness.

Her Excellency Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the General Women's Union, said: "We are always delighted to welcome the youth of our nation to participate in ATLG training programme, which reflects our firm commitment to empowering and developing Emirati youth, providing them with a golden opportunity to acquire valuable experience and skills for building a bright professional future. This is achieved in collaboration with the Digital Cluster of AD Ports Group to develop a group of exceptional leaders who will play crucial roles in shaping the future of our nation."

Professor Dr Ahmed Al Raisi, Acting Director of United Arab Emirates University, said that the ATLG programme is a pioneering initiative that contributes to enhancing the skills of national cadres in advanced digital technology and logistics, in line with the directives of our wise leadership.

He also expressed the university's pride in its vital role in supporting national initiatives like the ATLG programme, where it provides its academic expertise to equip participants with the latest knowledge and skills. The programme offers a unique opportunity for professional training in various specialties, enhancing the participants' status in technical work and preparing them to face future challenges in the digital economy.

Engineer Ghaliya Al Mannaee, Chairwoman of Strategic and Development Affairs Committee at the General Women's Union, affirmed the Union's efforts, in collaboration with its strategic partners, to provide a nurturing, supportive, and inspiring environment for youth, through proper preparation, enabling resources, and optimising their energies and capabilities. It also offers full opportunities for their work in both government and private sectors.

She indicated that the General Women's Union believes in its essential roles in achieving the strategic goals of the nation regarding women's support and empowerment, with a long-term vision aiming for their active participation in establishing a more empowered society, with greater awareness of the upcoming phase requirements, and preparing them to continue their ambitious path towards future foresight and advanced sciences and building a competitive knowledge-based and diverse economy.

She said that the ATLG training programme has successfully established sustainability principles over its six previous batches, developed the skills of Emirati cadres, and prepared them to take on leading roles in trade and logistics. The General Women's Union plans to expand the geographical scope of the training programme to include Gulf countries, to share this expertise with our sisters in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The seventh batch offers eight specialties: Business Analyst, User Interface Designer, Project Coordinator, Digital Trade Support Officer, Programmer, Data Scientist, Application Security Specialist, and Artificial Intelligence Developer. Among the applicants, 167 candidates were selected for interviews, reflecting the programme's commitment to choosing and nurturing promising talents to drive digital and logistical transformation in the country.
