Request for Pilot Exemption Certificate

Through this service, Pilot Exemption Certificate (PEC) can be issued for the vessel masters in commercial ports and Musaffah Channel. This certificate enables masters with vessels that requires compulsory pilotage to enter the port without a need for pilot from AD Ports Group.

Steps to Follow

STEP01

Customer submits a request for pilot exemption certificate along with the required documents.

STEP02

APPLICATION REVIEWED

If the vessel master meets the requirements, the customer is informed to undergo the oral and practical exams.

STEP03

RECEIVE RESPONSE

If the master has passed the examination, the certificate is issued and can be collected upon paying the fees.

A completed application form (Annex 1)

Masters’ Certificate of Competency

Copy of the Vessel's Certificate of Registry

Seaman’s book or other proof of sea service

Proof of Identity (UAE ID or Passport Copy)

Medical fitness certificate

Piloting attendance form (Annex 2)

A letter from the ship’s agent confirming the applicant’s request and undertaking to pay the fee.

Musaffah Familiarization Certificate (MFC) Simulator Training- as applicable.

Additional Information

Service ChargesMaster's holding a PEC for Khalifa Port, Zayed Port, Free Ports, Musaffah Channel and Al Dhafra Region Ports but not taking a licensed pilot) will be charged at AED 2000 per vessel per movement.
