Request for Renewal of Pilot Exemption Certificate

Through this service, vessel masters can submit a request to renew the Pilot Exemption Certificate (PEC) through the existing agent.

Steps to Follow

STEP01

Login through "ATLP" Platform.

STEP02

SUBMIT APPLICATION

Submit the request and the required documents.

STEP03

RECEIVE RESPONSE

Vessel Master has to meet the requirements, and is informed to undergo the oral and practical exams.

STEP04

REQUEST STATUS

Receive the approval or rejection. In case of refusal, vessel master will review the comments and provide additional documents, information and clarifications if necessary.

STEP05

SERVICE COMPLETION

Obtain the renewed Pilot Exemption Certificate upon passing the examination. Digital renewed certificate will be sent via email.

Completed application form (Annex 1)

• Letter from the Ship’s agent confirming the applicant’s request and undertaking to pay the service fee and number of trips in the last 12 months.

Musaffah Familiarisation Certificate (MFC) Simulator Training- as applicable. e Ship from the owners or agents, and the number of voyages he has made in the previous 12 months

Copy of the Vessel's Certificate of Registry

GMDSS certificate and Flag endorsement

Masters’ Certificate of Competency and Flag endorsement.

Medical fitness certificate

Piloting attendance form (Annex 2)

Proof of Identity (UAE ID or Passport Copy)

Seaman’s book or other proof of sea service

Service Charges

Masters holding a Pilot Exemption Certificate for Khalifa Port, Zayed Port, Free Port, Musaffah Channel and Al Dhafra Region Ports, but not taking a licensed pilot will be charged at AED 2000 per vessel per movement.
